A recently published article in the Jackson Magazine titled, "Marketing in a Bad Economy DON'T STOP!" Highlighted the essential need to push past the initial knee jerk reaction to tough economic times by eliminating marketing dollars from any organizations' budget. It has been suggested that recruitment is the only out come of marketing leaving out the entire component, some would even argue the most important component of retention. The Community Relations position at Jackson Public Schools handles a myriad of job duties only one of which is marketing/recruitment. Ask any number of parents who they contact at the district if they are experiencing a difficulty and the answer would be the same, the Community Relations Office. Before it is suggested that the marketing of a 66 million dollar business is abandoned folks might want to read the article and look at the job duties that are in total handled by the Community Relations Office.
