Seraphine Pitt Barnes, Ph.D., MPH, CHES Health Scientist and head of the evaluation research team of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion recently signed and sent a letter to the Jackson Public Schools Health and Human Services Coordinator, Linda Meeder.
The letter stated: "We are delighted to inform you that JPS has been selected to receive technical assistance from the CDC." This assistance will help with the evaluation of your district's Coordinated School Health program.
The process will involve a 1-day site visit in October, note this visit will be different than the initial site visit in which the district participated.
Congratulations to the district for having a vision to implement the Coordinated School Health model five years ago when very few other districts chose to do so.
