Nutrition Services at Jackson Public Schools is based at Hunt Elementary. It is our mission to have well-trained staff members dedicated to fully satisfying all our customers in a safe and friendly atmosphere achieving higher than the national average participation by students in our meal programs requiring the essential help of parents and community, administrators and other staff members. We are committed to educate and model to others proper nutrition, which helps students succeed physically and academically.
The Food Service Department provides breakfast and lunch daily at all of Jackson Public School’s facilities. Snacks are served at after-school educational programs. A dinner program is available at several elementary schools and Parkside, Amy Firth and TA Wilson for students who are enrolled in after-school programs.
A Universal Free Breakfast program is now open to all students enrolled in Elementary and Middle School. Every student up through the eighth grade, no matter their economic status, is eligible to eat breakfast at no charge. We urge all students to eat a healthy breakfast whether they eat at school or at home. Many studies show the benefits of breakfast and the important role it plays in learning.
