Jackson High School provides students with many avenues to explore their creative talents. The performing arts department offers students programs in music and theater.
In the music program at JHS, students can begin to play an instrument and then develop their skills through five different levels of concert bands. From the cadet band and cadet wind ensemble to varsity band, varsity wind ensemble, and symphony, new techniques are taught that develop students' musical talent. This department also teaches classes in choir and guitar, with several different choirs such as women’s choir and euphony choir, and guitar levels from beginning to advanced. The highly successful
JHS orchestra and marching band are both open to freshmen, sophomores,
juniors, and seniors. Through auditions for all band placements, the performing arts teachers make sure their students are where they deserve to be. To learn more about the classes offered by this department, please visit the department class list located in the handbook.
