Dear Parents,
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and high spirits as we prepare for a new academic year. We are thrilled to welcome you back to Cascades Elementary, A Leader In Me School, where we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and responsible school community.
At Cascades, education is not just about academic achievement but also about developing essential life skills. That's why we have implemented two important frameworks, "Leader in Me" and "PBIS" (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), which will shape our school culture and create a positive learning environment for all students.
What is Leader in Me? "Leader in Me" empowers students with leadership skills and instills the values of being safe, respectful, and responsible—the three Bs that guide our community. Through this program, we aim to cultivate confident individuals who demonstrate integrity and take ownership of their actions, positively impacting those around them.
Additionally, we continue implementing PBIS to ensure we provide targeted interventions to students based on their unique needs. By identifying areas for growth and offering personalized support, we strive to create an inclusive environment where every student can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
In addition to implementing Leader In Me and continuing our PBIS focus, we are excited to introduce the OpenCourt reading program. This curriculum will provide common reading practices in our elementary buildings district-wide to improve literacy instruction and close the opportunity gap for all JPS students. We will engage and inspire our young readers, providing them with the tools to unlock their potential and develop a lifelong love for reading. This program will foster a community of avid readers and critical thinkers.
Our goal at Cascades is to become a thriving school community, which is only possible with strong partnerships. We encourage and value your involvement in your child's education. We invite you to participate in various parental and community activities throughout the year, such as volunteer opportunities, family engagement events, and parent-teacher conferences. Working together, we can create an atmosphere where your child can excel inside and outside the classroom.
As we embark on this educational journey together, rest assured that the safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities. Your child's educational journey will take place in a setting that prioritizes their growth, happiness, and success.
We look forward to a fruitful and rewarding academic year with your child. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact us. Let us work hand in hand to shape tomorrow's future leaders and responsible citizens.
Wishing you all a wonderful school year!
Yours in Service,
