Hello and welcome to The Middle School at Parkside. My name is Mrs. Jarvey and I am the Associate Principal. This upcoming school year I will be working with our new students and will be the 6th grade principal. I am excited to see them continue to learn and grow! Parkside is the best place to be for your child! Why you ask? We offer many after school clubs such as Academic Games, French and German Club, Science Club, Student Council, and National Junior Honor Society just to name a few. We also have offerings in sports such as wrestling, swimming, basketball, football, cheerleading, track, cross country and volleyball.
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! My name is Jill Weatherwax and I will be the eighth grade principal this school year. This is my first year as an administrator, my 19th year at Parkside, and my 24th with Jackson Public Schools. I look forward to continuing established relationships with students and guiding them in a new capacity. Students can look forward to continuing a rigorous and individualized educational path as they complete their time as middle schoolers. Our enthusiastic and highly trained staff is dedicated to nurturing and developing each student's strengths and supporting their educational, social, and emotional needs.

The Center for Family Health operates three school health centers, in partnership with Jackson Public Schools, making affordable medical and behavioral health services convenient.
Two centers serve patients through the age of 21 – Parkside Health Center and Jackson High Health Center. Northeast Health Center serves patients of all ages and also offers dental services.
It is like having a family doctor’s office in a school. The centers are open to all students, regardless of where they go to school. Students under 18 need parental permission to be treated. The school health centers can serve as your family doctor or be utilized in tandem with your family physician.
School health center staff conduct physical examinations, diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, administer immunizations, offer hearing and vision screening, and provide preventive health services and education. Therapists also are on staff.
All school health centers are open weekdays year-round. You can learn more about hours, specific locations and phone numbers by visiting www.CenterforFamilyHealth.org/ health-services/school-health.
Adults or children treated at any of the school health centers can utilize the services at the downtown Jackson facility at 505 N. Jackson St. and the Dental Clinic at 500 N. Jackson St.
All Center locations accept most commercial and government insurance groups, including Medicaid and Medicare; offer a sliding discount program; and never turn anyone away because of inability to pay.
Memories aren’t all that Jackson High School musicians brought back with them from a holiday trip to Florida. The school’s marching and concert bands brought home trophies from their performances at the 2019 Outback Bowl and Brightspark National Festival in Tampa, Fla. In all 93 students participated in the events
