Dear Viking Parents/Guardians:
I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying the remainder of summer. I am Mrs. Monica Pierce, your proud Jackson High School Principal for Instruction! I would like to welcome you to our 2021-22 school year!
At Jackson High School we know that it is essential to take care of each student as a whole child and as we transition to a new school year, we will ensure that all students are afforded the opportunity to succeed in all aspects of their education.
Although our 20-21 school year was not as expected, we did celebrate some successes and highlights, here are just a few:
- Decision Day (celebration of seniors)
- 1:1 Computing (equitable access for all students)
- After School Tutoring/Athletic Study tables (reinforcing a culture of academic excellence)
- Vikings Give (bringing our community together)
- Sources of Strength (supporting mental health and wellness for staff/ students)
- Virtual Ambassador Auction ( scholarships for students)
- Community Closet (providing food, clothing, hygiene items, etc)
- Virtual Student Assemblies (community speakers shared experiences with students)
- Virtual Honors Celebrations (celebrating our culture of academic excellence)
- Homecoming...
- ...and many more…
We look forward to our students returning to a five day instructional model and understand there will be a need to pay attention to dynamics that may have shifted in their study habits. We will continue to offer after school tutoring and resources to strengthen students' mental health and awareness.

Dear incoming class of 2025:
My name is Alicia Curtis, and I am the new 9th grade Assistant Principal at Jackson High School. I am incredibly proud and honored to be back at Jackson High, where I once was a student myself.
I am a mom to 3 beautiful boys, Brady, Oliver, and Oscar, who are currently attending Dibble and Parkside.I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education at Olivet College where I also played volleyball. I most recently received my Masters Degree from Grand Canyon University in Administration. I am entering my 12th year in education, and this will be my first year as an administrator. I am so excited to be a part of this class to watch them grow and succeed throughout their high school years. Jackson High is an amazing school that will provide your child with many different avenues of success.
My goal for this coming year is to make your student feel as comfortable as possible. We are going to learn and grow together, celebrate successes, and work our way through challenges that may arise. I firmly believe in building solid relationships, and can’t wait to get to know your student!
We look forward to our students returning to a five day instructional model and understand there will be a need to pay attention to dynamics that may have shifted in their study habits.
