The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end, the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

We believe that structuring and supporting new experiences for students is fundamental to the students’ knowledge, understanding and conceptual development - the ability to have an understanding of abstract concepts, to make links between them and to think conceptually. We believe that development and learning are interrelated, and our framework for teaching and learning allows our learners to be responsible for their learning beyond specific subject areas, teaching them how to better function in the world around them.
