JPS Strategic Goal Areas

Academics & Programs

Goal Statement: Improve academic outcomes for all students.

First Year Objectives:

  • Establish and refine MTSS systems to provide academic support and interventions and chronic absenteeism
  • Provide ongoing professional development and coaching
  • Increase/expand offerings (ie. Life Skills, Foreign Language, Trades, AP courses)

Learning Environment & Culture

Goal Statement: Create a safe, supportive school culture by improving behavior systems and expanding mental health support to increase student engagement and success.

First Year Objectives:

  • Achieve district-wide consistent implementation of PBIS & restorative practices with fidelity checks.
  • Decrease office referrals & suspensions.
  • Increase access for all students & families to school & community-based mental health services. 
  • Encourage stakeholder participation in community events.

Communications & Community Engagement

Goal Statement: Improved community visibility through constant engagement activities across the district.

First Year Objectives:

  • Plan & publish a monthly calendar of events for community engagement. 
  • Continue monthly staff celebrations.
  • Systemic process for task force to analyze student & staff exit interview data.
  • Establish clear communication model of the monthly progress of the student & staff exit interviews.

Personnel & Leadership

Goal Statement: Improve staff retention and wellness.

First Year Objectives:

  • Leverage data-driven staffing criteria to right-size building administrators. 
  • Use data-driven insights to prioritize staff professional development & well-being initiatives. 
  • Develop a written process for conducting staff exit interviews, analyzing data & creating action steps to address identified trends.
  • Explore options to a 5-day work week.

Operations

Goal Statement: Be financially stable and fiscally responsible.

First Year Objectives:

  • Analyze bus runs to identify savings & efficiencies. 
  • Retain current students & effective staff. 
  • Preventative building maintenance. 
  • Analyze semester vs trimester.
