Taxpayers saving $13.2M due to competitive Jackson school bond market
Better-than-budgeted interest rates and a competitive market paid off for Jackson Public schools in the recent sale of bonds from a proposal voters approved in May. The 2.95-mill proposal passed by 994 votes. Funds will be used for consolidation of buildings, construction of a new school, reopening a vacant building, updating and securing learning spaces, swimming pool replacement, purchase of buses and technology upgrades.
