Good evening Viking! This is Mr. Lewis with your weekly announcements. Welcome back from Spring break. We have a full week ahead of us and your student's success is our number one priority.

The Parent Network will be hosting a luncheon for our staff during teachers appreciation week. We’d also like to give our teachers gift cards at this luncheon. If you’d like to donate gift cards or give a monetary donation, you or your student can drop them off to Mrs. Edwards in the main office.

The JHS Prom will be held on May 21 at the Commonwealth building in the CityView Ballroom from 8:30- 11:30 pm. Tickets will be $40. Look for more information on the monitors at school and in the newsletters.

Our JHS Community Closet is hosting a free, one day only, prom dress event, Say Yes to the Dress!, this week on Tuesday from 2:30-4:30 in the cafeteria! This event will provide free prom dresses for our students!! All you have to do is be there!

Just a reminder that our day begins at 7:20 a.m. with doors opening at 7:00 a.m. Please have your young person here no later than 7:15 a.m. to be on time for school. Our day ends at 2:17 pm and all students must depart the building by 2.30 pm. Please plan accordingly.

This Thursday we will be hosting a Guest Speaker Jermaine Merrit, he is a straight talking representative from violence prevention organization. Permission slips will be sent home tomorrow for you to opt out of the assembly.

We will also be taking some students to the Stop the Violence Summit this Friday April 8th. The summit will focus on common solutions for our community to reduce the number of violent incidents.

After School Tutoring will be held Monday- Thursday from 2:30-4:00 pm.

Spring testing will begin on April 12, please be on the lookout for this newsletter that was mailed to you with specific details.
