Weekly announcements 9/18

Good evening Vikings! This is Mr. Lewis with your weekly announcements.

Picture Day is tomorrow. Come dressed to impress. The pictures last for a lifetime.

Juniors, the deadline for being able to join the Jackson Early College is fast approaching. If you are interested in taking college classes in high school, make sure you connect with your counselor by Friday, September 30th.

Just a reminder that doors open at 7:00am. If your student is not participating in a club or on a sporting team, they will need to depart the building no later than 2:30pm.

I want to remind all students that we are a closed campus. This means that once the bell rings for the start of school, students are to remain on campus until the final bell rings at 2:17 unless you have permission from a parent. Furthermore, we do not allow for students to have food delivered from local restaurants via DoorDash or any other food service.

Homecoming is coming on September 30! We will have a food truck tailgate (owners are JPHS alumni) starting at 4:30 in our bus loop, an alumni basketball game at 5:00, the homecoming parade will begin at Walmart at 6:00pm., Vikings football team takes on Tecumseh at 7:00pm, and the halftime show features our JXN high marching band and the Alumni band! You don’t want to miss this year’s festivities!

Our homecoming dance will be held on October 1, in our fieldhouse from 8:00- 11:00pm. Admission cost is $10. If you are a parent/guardian who is interested in helping at the dance, please give our main office a call!

Jackson Magazine is now accepting nominations for the 2023 Top Teacher Award. Our JHS teachers are amazing and if you would like to nominate one of them for being a teacher that is an outstanding leader, is dedicated to students, and has gone above and beyond to help students and parents, please visit their website at www.jacksonmagazine.com, go to events tab and select Top Teachers. The due date for 2023 nominations is October 14, 2022.

At this point in the year we want to encourage you to connect with us through the PowerSchool app, we have found that students who have consistent check ins on their grades and attendance have more success. The beginning of this year has been a success, if you are concerned about your students progress please connect with your students teacher or with the Pathways office for support.
