All students in the Classes of 2023- 2026, who currently maintain a 4.0 GPA and have done so over the course of their high school career, including middle school courses in which they received HS credit, have the opportunity to be Valedictorian. The new policy goes into effect for the Class of 2027.

NEW Valedictorian policy: Class of 2027 and beyond:
Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 for all earned credits including high school credits acquired in middle school. The retaking of a course for a better grade will not be used in computation for Valedictorian. Independent studies will not be considered in the computation for selection for Valedictorian.

Additionally, for the Class of 2027 and beyond, the following must be met:
Students must take a minimum of six Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment or Early College courses, in any combination.
JHS will start a new tradition where Valedictorians and family members will be invited to a luncheon where the valedictorians will be provided an opportunity to present speeches.
