Good evening Viking family! This is Mr. Lewis with this week’s high school announcements.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we move forward with our technology updates and bring this trimester to a close. We will keep you updated as to when students will regain access to our network.

Seniors…your yearbook headshot is due on December 1 instead of November 20.

Tomorrow students will take exams for first- third hours with dismissal at 10:45am.

Tuesday students will take exams for hours 4-6 with dismissal at 10:45am.

Wednesday- Friday there will be no classes due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Second trimester will begin on November 28. Report cards will be mailed out on December

Data from the annual National Youth Tobacco Survey showed that 14.1% of high school students and 3.3% of middle school students said they'd recently used an e-cigarette or other vape product. The CDC's Office on Smoking and Health, said the new numbers show that this year, 2.5 million middle and high school students in the U.S. are reporting vaping. As we work to improve our community and decrease unnecessary traffic in the bathrooms, in addition to referrals to our drug prevention program; JUMP (just understand my potential), we are looking at adding MIP (minors in possession) to students who are caught vaping or in possession of substances when they are on campus. Officer Stallworth will be issuing MIP tickets in the near future. If your young person has a habit that they need help kicking, please reach out to a principal or counselor. We thank you for your help with this concern as we try to help our young people. https://truthinitiative.org/thisisquitting
